NMC means family to me. When I first came to camp as a Reveille camper, I had no idea what to expect. I was nervous about meeting people and starting college, but NMC met me with kindness, encouragement, and friendships that made Mississippi State feel like home. Coming back as a counselor the last two years has been one of the best parts of my college experience. I got to give back the same intentional love and support that was given to me by helping campers find their people, feel seen, and feel like they belong here. Now, having the opportunity to serve as a counselor trainer, I get to continue that impact in an even deeper way. I get to pour into staffers while also helping shape the culture of camp. I hope to prepare staffers to create those same life-changing moments for the next group of students. NMC is about showing up, choosing people, and loving intentionally. It truly makes a difference on this campus, and I’m grateful to have been a part of that impact
