There are not many places that I feel live out the mission of loving people well quite like New Maroon Camp. Stepping into camp back in 2022 was very daunting to me, but after receiving such a warm welcome from my counselor (shoutout Ann Olivia Radicioni!) I quickly understood that Mississippi State had a space that it was waiting for me to fill. NMC is a community, fueled by love, that collectively strives to welcome and embrace every individual it encounters. I have so much gratitude for NMC and all the lessons that it has taught me - the biggest lesson of all being that home is not something you merely find, it's something you create.
