Advice for Freshmen:

Come in with an open mind. Branch out from the person you think you are, and be willing to learn from others as well as yourself. Coming to college is a monumental step in your pursuit of academics, but you don’t have to limit yourself to only learning in a classroom. We all have the resource of thousands of peers that we can learn new stories from, understand their walk through life, and we also get to show and teach with our own stories. Aim to learn, pursue, and achieve any goal that is possible because when you look back in four years, it would be horrible to regret all the things you did not do.

What does New Maroon Camp mean to you?:

New Maroon Camp for me means a complete life change. Coming from high school, I did not really have a place of belonging, and I did not know who I was as a person. NMC helped me find that. It gave me a family, a purpose, and it has provided me an outlet to be unapologetically myself and be loved for who I am. Anything and anyone New Maroon Camp touches feels that impact. NMC takes people and helps them find themselves while also finding people who love that person they are finding within.
