Advice for Incoming Students:

Of the thousands upon thousands of students that have come through Mississippi State, they have yet to have one of YOU. Don’t think you have to fit a mold or change who you are, when coming into college — being truly and authentically you is the best thing you could offer! You will thrive in the areas on campus that make you the most comfortable and where you can be yourself. The right people, places, and things will come to you, with patience. Never let ANYONE take away your SPARKLE!

Favorite thing about Mississippi State:

The community! People at MSU are so quick and eager to know you, and it’s very easy to get involved and give back to this campus. It is rare to meet a stranger at Mississippi State!

What does New Maroon Camp mean to you?:

Coming from an out-of-state student, the importance of finding belonging in a new place is crucial. The general uncertainty that comes with college can be significantly lessened by a familiar face, a sweet friend, or a loving campus — I believe that is the mission of New Maroon Camp. This organization provides that immediate welcoming to campus that any new student needs, smoothing the rocky transition that comes with moving in. NMC means foundation, NMC means community, NMC means MORE!
