If you want to be someone who likes pineapple on pizza, then be! If you want to be a journalist, then be! Or an artist or a doctor or a graphic designer! Now is your time to embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you places. Trust that what is meant for you will find you and you can be whoever you choose. Be someone who values community, has integrity, is a hard-worker, and respects others. Be someone who knows everyone is a friend, you just gotta make ‘em. But most importantly, be a Bulldog. Hail State.

The planting of the Spring tulips each year is my favorite MSU tradition. First, they are my favorite flower because of the Barbie movie Fairytopia (they lived in a tulip field and their homes were tulips). But second, because tulips are so symbolic; they persevere in harsh conditions and yet, despite all of it, still manage to be something so effortlessly beautiful. Each year, they are a simple reminder that all of the change and growth we experience is leading to an outcome we did not know we needed, even if it is as simple as a blossomed tulip.
