Advice for Freshmen:

"If you look for the bad, you will always find it. If you look for the good, you will find that too. Our experience of humanity, and life itself, is truly up to us."

How has New Maroon Camp impacted you? :

"New Maroon Camp helped me start college off on the right foot. My counselor provided me with the love and support to be myself and helped me accept whatever success and failures were in store for me. Additionally, it helped me build a strong core group of friends which made the transition to college incredibly easy."

Favorite MSU Memory:

"My favorite MSU memory has to be the last night of New Maroon Camp. It made me so grateful to be a part of something that stands for nothing but love and acceptance and gave me a whole new appreciation for Mississippi State."

Favorite MSU Tradition:

"My favorite MSU tradition is the cowbell. Being a first generation student, it brings me a lot of pride to attend a university with such an interesting and longstanding tradition. The cowbell is a symbol that unites people from all over the world of all different walks of life and, in a way, being given a cowbell is an invitation to be a part of the Mississippi State family."
